It’s our goal to help companies create better products, services, and experiences, and we’ve been doing exactly that with our analysis of the user feedback for OpenAI’s new ChatGPT iOS app.

Our advanced AI recently translated, categorized, and summarized thousands of ChatGPT App Store reviews, giving us a well-rounded look at the successes and potential improvements of this revolutionary AI mobile app that launched May 18. unitQ’s AI analysis of ChatGPT’s iOS application’s user feedback underscores the power of unitQ’s platform to surface insights from real-time user feedback by automatically categorizing and summarizing user pain points, product gaps, trending issues and bugs to empower organizations to deliver high-quality experiences.

A comprehensive AI analysis of ChatGPT app feedback

OpenAI’s ChatGPT iOS app has generally impressed users with its clean interface and copy/paste functionality. Users are appreciating the speed, simplicity, reliability, and — a big plus — the absence of ads and there also being a free version.

However, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for everyone. Some users have reported overheating, battery drain, syncing issues, and haptic feedback problems. There’s also been a call for plugin and Siri support, math formula rendering features and improvements to the account creation process.

Within a span of just weeks, however, OpenAI showed their commitment to user satisfaction by introducing iPad support, enhancing right-to-left language support, and making several other updates to improve the user iOS experience.

What unitQ AI found

unitQ’s analysis filtered out thousands of reviews in which users only left stars, but did not provide written comments. Of these written reviews, more than half revealed feature requests. The remainder of reviews concerned bugs and quality issues, many of which OpenAI has been addressing.

Top key quality issues include:

  • Overheating issues

  • Can’t sign up

  • Device not compatible

  • Excessive battery drain

  • Difficult to navigate UI

  • Crashing

  • Force closing

  • Subscription upgrade not recognized

  • Fails to launch

  • Can’t login with Google

  • Voice mode not working

  • No customer support

  • Unsatisfactory behavior

*This analysis is a result of unitQ’s Spring 2023 State of Mobile Applications benchmarking report, which examined over 22 million Google Play Store and Apple App Store reviews for more than 5,300 top Android and iOS mobile applications.
